Choosing a new kitchen is a big thing. There are colour swatches, layout options, worktops, appliances… it can feel overwhelming. What really matters to us is making that journey feel less stressful and more exciting. We’re here to help you find something that not only looks great, but works brilliantly for you and your home.
Who We Are
We’re a close-knit team of around 20 people, rooted in Sussex and Surrey — with showrooms in Brighton & Hove, Horsham, and Guildford. Along the way we’ve built something we feel proud of: combining design flair with thoughtful service. From our talented designers through to our installation experts we care about every detail.
Our Journey
2004 — The seed for The Kitchen Store was planted when Alan discovered a showroom called the Kitchen Clinic in a wharfside building in Cape Town. It struck him how beautiful, modern spaces could also feel inviting and personal. That sparked the idea: why not bring that same style, warmth, and quality into kitchens here, with service that puts people first.
Shortly after, our first showroom opened in Lancing, West Sussex. It was the start of something that’s grown steadily but always stayed true to its roots.
Over the years, we’ve expanded our reach: Brighton & Hove joined in 2013, Horsham in 2016, London in 2020 and Guildford in 2023. Alongside that growth, we’ve committed ourselves to high standards — whether that’s through working with manufacturers who share our values, holding accreditations, or taking on bigger projects through TKS Projects (our commercial+development side).

Craftsmanship + Quality: We work with British and German kitchen manufacturers, plus trusted suppliers, to ensure every kitchen is built well and built to last.
People First: You, the customer; our team; and our community. We believe in treating everyone with respect, being transparent, and making the whole process as clear and supportive as possible.
Sustainability and Responsibility: We source from PEFC-certified manufacturers; we aim to reduce waste; and wherever possible, we choose materials and partnerships that align with long-term environmental care.
Attention to Detail: From design to installation to finish, it’s often the small things that make the difference — the cabinetry, the fit, the final finishing touches. We pride ourselves on getting those right.
Today & Looking Ahead
Over 20 years on, we’ve delivered kitchens not just in homes but in some bigger-scale projects too — working through our commercial arm to ensure quality isn’t compromised at scale. What excites us each day is helping people transform their homes into spaces they really love.
You’ll find we’re down-to-earth, informal, but committed to doing a job well. Because at the end of the day, we want to look at what we’ve done together and say: this is right, this is beautiful, and it fits you.
