How we ended up here
In recent weeks, I have had a little more time to reflect on the business, how we’re doing, and how far we’ve come. I thought about how long The Kitchen Store had been operating, and I couldn’t believe it’s now been 16 years!
Back when we started in 2004, there were just three of us designers, working from a tiny factory kitchen showroom.
At the time, it wasn’t much to look at. But our flair for design and our honest, personal, one-to-one approach with customers soon led to bigger, better things.
And now? Well, there are 25 of us in the team (here’s just a few of us below), we operate from three high-profile showrooms and we’re one of the largest independent kitchen retailers across Sussex and The South.
The simple reason we started has never changed: to create inspiring kitchens, so that every person and every family can centre their home around the best room in the house, and do it in style. And with the choice of ranges we have available, there really is something for everyone.
The talent, the design expertise and the attention to detail haven’t changed either. There’s just more of it.
As German & British kitchen design specialists for Sussex, we offer the full kitchen service, right from the original idea, through to the final installation.
We’ve been recognised for doing this really well, and we’re very proud of the awards that we’ve received for our hard work. To name but a few:
Best Independent Retailer in Brighton & Hove in 2015; and
Finalists for Sussex Company of the Year in 2015 & 2016
One of the things that sets us apart is the size of our showrooms, particularly in Brighton & Hove and Horsham. (You may have already visited one of them.)
They’re big, and they give you an excellent feel for exactly how your new kitchen could look, with a considerable breadth of range on show too. You’ll get real ideas and inspiration for parts of your living space that you never knew existed!
Within the next few weeks, you’ll be able to drop in for a browse around our kitchens and a chat. Rest assured that as soon as it’s safe to do so, we will be inviting you in, with all necessary precautions in hand!
